podcast hosting

Comprehensive Podcasting Solutions - we can publish, upload and host your podcasts, ensuring smooth delivery of audio and video podcasts.

podcasting

If you have a product or service that you want to promote or inform others about, you should consider podcasting:

We cater for both audio and video podcasting (vodcasting).

All you need to do is upload your mp3/m4v files to our servers, enter a few details about your content and add a link to your website and we will do the rest:

  • Publish your content with an RSS file that references the content, in order that new files are recognised by listeners/viewers downloads and synchronises them to their media player when they next log their mobile media player on.
  • Upload your files onto our own internet servers so that listeners/viewers can download the file onto their mobile device
  • Host your podcast on our internet servers for you - storing your audio and video podcasts.

When your listener/viewer logs onto your website, they will see a list of of your audio or video podcasts sorted by date which they can download to their computers or mobile media device. They can then listen to your podcast at any time, whenever and wherever they choose. You now have an effective and convenient way to get your message out.

Podcasting statistics are available as an optional service to help you identify whether you are reaching your target audience and meeting your objectives through podcasting.

podcasting explained

"Podcasting" is the combination of two words: "iPod" and "broadcasting."

It describes the distribution of archived audio/video/text/image/multimedia files via the internet. The files can be downloaded to your computer and then transferred onto any mobile media device, such as an mp3 player, ipod or mobile phone to be played whenever and wherever you want. (At this moment in time, you cannot podcast live events.)

Multimedia files are transferred from a server to a listener/viewer who subscribes to an XML feed which lists the latest files containing the internet address of the media files.

Example Podcasts:

  • Music videos
  • Radio programmes
  • News & media reports
  • Advertising clips
  • Sports & recreation
  • Education tutorials
  • Film trailers
  • Interviews with celebrities
  • Individuals promoting regular programmes about work/holiday/hobbies

Subscribing to podcasts/downloading podcasts

To subscribe to and receive podcasts you use a software program called a podcatcher. Once subscribed, the podcatcher periodically checks for and downloads new content automatically onto your computer and is synchronized to your mobile media player device when you plug it into your computer. No need for you to frequently check to see if updates are available. Itunes is one of the most globally well known podcatchers at the moment, but there are many more.

The beauty of the podcast is that you can listen/watch programmes whenever you want and wherever you want: on the way to work, at the gym, on holiday, at home, they are totally mobile.
