Live Webcasting to a Global Audience

Streaming Wizard hosted a live satellite launch into space, on 27 October 2005! Over 1,000 people tuned in to view the live webcast from all over the world.

The SSETI Express satellite set off into space via a Russian launcher from the Plesetsk Cosmodrome in northern Russia.

The (SSETI) Student Space Exploration and Technology Initiative, took over a year and half to build by 200 odd students based at more than 20 universities, across 12 European countries. A unique project, funded by the European Space Agency (Esa), used the internet as the main communication tool for the geographically wide-spread students.

The satellite, similar in size to a standard washing machine was built for earth observation and amateur radio transmissions. The project was set up to help inspire and train future aerospace workers.
